Domaine A. Berthet Rayne

Domaine André Berthet-Rayne Côtes du Rhône

Usually we can’t wait to tempt your palate with our newest Italian wine, but a trip to France this summer found us with this absolutely delectable wine in our glasses, and we knew we had to bring it home to our discerning clients.

Domaine André Berthet-Rayne is a tiny estate on the left bank of the Rhône river in the little-known AOC of Cairanne.  Four generations of the Berthet-Rayne family have farmed this land, and today André and his wife Marina proudly carry on the family tradition.  The organically farmed vineyards are full of ancient vines, some of which are more than 100 years in age.

The Domaine André Berthet-Rayne Cairanne Vieilles Vignes is juicy, fresh, and ideal as an accompaniment to everything from salmon to roasted meats to an assortment of cheeses and cured meats.  The wine mostly Grenache, with smaller amounts of Syrah and Carignane, and since it isn’t oak-aged, it retains a youthful freshness that’s just delightful.

The sun-drenched hills of the Rhône Valley fill the bottle of this vibrant Cairanne Vieilles Vignes, and the small traditional villages of southern France infuse its spirit.
