Barolo

Azienda Agricola Stra, Barolo (2011)

This Barolo DOCG 2011 is made from Nebbiolo grapes that are forty five (45) years old, with the vineyard being exposed to the southern side of Lampia-sub area, also known for its consistency in quality of grapes.

Has a garnet red and brick orange hues, this wine has a complex bouquet with hints of violets, autumn undergrowth and tar. On the pallet it is elegant and round with nice tannins that become more round as the age grows.

A note about the winemaker: The Stra family has been living and working the vineyards in the Barolo area for five generations. Their vineyards are among the oldest in the area. It is a small estate located in the heart of the Barolo area with their vineyards having excellent exposure to the sun. The production is totaling about 20,000 bottles a year; they bottle their own production with no exception which translates into top quality wines.
